![]() The 2022 standard is a departure from business as usual. Appendix G also added Appendix J with performance curves to be used for part load equipment performance. The 2022 edition also includes a new informative appendix that can be used with Appendix G if a rating authority wants to use metrics other than energy cost, such as carbon. This offers a whole new path to compliance using a system approach not prescribed efficiency. The mechanical section introduces the Total System Performance Ratio (TSPR) as an alternate path for compliance. These additional requirements are above the prescriptive requirements but contain many options for compliance that demonstrate a possible path to net zero buildings. This edition adds a new section, Chapter 11 Additional Efficiency Requirements. The 2022 version of 90.1 begins the Standard’s move toward becoming a Net Zero Carbon Emission Code by 2031.
